Although I'm the account guy, I prefer the title of wannabe copywriter. Whether it's speechwriting for clients, concept writing for brands or screenwriting for fun, nothing captures my attention or passion more than developing a good story. And after working all these years, in all these roles, in all those cities, on all those brands, I've collected quite a few.

With major cable companies looking to get into the video game arena, console makers such as Xbox, PlayStation and Wii might be looking at "game over." (see what I did there)

Looks like Hollywood isn't the only one doing remakes. Grey has redone the famous Mean Joe Green/Coke commercial for Downy. If it's not Super Bowl worthy to Downy, should they even have done it?

Interesting NY Times article regarding how the Hispanic population categorized themselves on the most recent US Census.
What do you do when your no name company has the #1 Energy Drink in the country? You change your company name to the name of the product! That's exactly what Hansen Natural Corp (who also makes Admiral Iced Tea & Junior Juice) did when they recently changed their company name to Monster Beverage Corp.
Regardless of the name change, Monster Energy still continues to dominate the category with an astounding 24% sales jump vs PY.

With the highly anticipated 3rd chapter of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy still 7 months away, Nolan and Warner Bros are giving the fans a taste of what is to come. In select IMAX theaters across the country, a 6-minute prologue of "The Dark Knight Rises" will be shown next weekend...similar to what they did for the introduction of the Joker for "The Dark Knight."
For fans who can't wait that long, Warner Bros launched a viral online campaign where CIA classified documents where scattered across different movie sites. Fans who followed the clues were lead to a website called "Operation: Early Bird" which went live today. Via this site, fans are given passes to a special one-night showing of prologue in select cities this coming Tuesday.
With the previous successful "Why So Serious" Joker campaign, plus the fact that "Operation: Early Bird" is already being sold out in certain areas, my guess is this is only the beginning for Christopher Nolan.

With advertising such as "Hamptons Quality. Newark Pricing" and "Escort Quality. Hooker Pricing." Wodka Vodka has never shied away from making a statement. However, even they know when to say when. It seems a local field rep felt he could make the campaign even better. He was wrong. Before you can say "Brand Guidelines" this billboard was taken down.
Happy Holidays?
