I don't know about you, but I can't get enough of great infographics. I found this great little collection of them on pintrest. Check them out!

@racestream
digital != technology,
you?
My interest in technology spans much farther than computers and social media. Anything that can be made better or modified using technology I find interesting. I have a huge interest in live streaming video. I enjoy building custom computer setups for specific tasks. Also, i've got quite a bit of experience in DOOH (Digital Out Of Home). I am constantly on the look out for and am documenting digital signage installations, touchscreen kiosks, and researching new networks, software, and means of content distribution.
As far as hobbies are concerned - building race cars, racing and supporting the motorsports industry are some of them. Most weekends you'll find me under my race car making changes and preparing it for the next event. I work with race teams doing mechanic work, ECU tuning, and innovation. Never a dull moment! :)
I don't know about you, but I can't get enough of great infographics. I found this great little collection of them on pintrest. Check them out!
This is a great article with some staggering numbers about the incadecent bulb. A pilot program using LED bulbs with wireless technology looks very promising! Check out the link to Gigaom for the complete article.
I have fond memories of playing in the sand box as a kid. Building things, throwing sand, having my sand sculptures stomped on - the usual. A research team at UC Davis have created a Kinect powered sandbox which detects hills/valleys as you create them, and uses a projector to project the topography onto the sand as you create. Check out the link for the story and a video which shows it in action - complete with water simulations. The younger generation has much to look forward to!
Distracted driving is truely an epidemic. I constantly see gaps in starting traffic, or slow moving vehicles because someone is texting or simply not paying attention to the road. This video is truely amazing showing a Belgian advocacy group and their approach to texting-while-driving. Check out this Mashable article for more info along with the video.

Just when you thought you had see some cool hacks with Microsoft's Kinect, Fellows at Carnegie Mellon University's Studio for Creative Inquiry are creating a really cool new effect by mixing the depth camera from the Kinect and video from a DSLR. Check out the link to the full CNET article complete with video showing it off.
Intel continues to make progress in shrinking the size of its processors while increasing efficiency. Ivy Bridge is no exception with it's 22nm die using what Intel is calling a "3D Tri-Gate manufacturing process". All tech jargon aside - it basically means more power/performance efficient and cost efficient processors with the lower end ones starting at $175 for a quad-core.

A dream experiment. I find the thought of influencing dreams very interesting. Check out the link for more info and a video on the app.
I stumbled across this today, although it appears it has been around since 2009. This is a neat little web application that will create photobooth style strip of photos from your uploaded images. It also lets you choose from a few different styles of exposure. check it out!
There have been a plethora of "smart watches" that can control non-iPhone products but now Eric Migicovsky - who is behind a number of other smart watches decided it was time to let iPhone users in on the party.
This one, named the Pebble controls both Android and iPhone. It has an e-paper display, bluetooth, an Accelerometer, and a 7+ day battery life to name a few features. It's not touchscreen, so those of you with iPod Nano watches are still hip. It will have an open SDK which I have no doubt will lead to really cool uses of the technology.
This project started out asking for $100k in funding and got that within 2 hours. By days end it was up to $500k so it's safe to say the project is under way. Check out the link to Mashable for a cool video and more info.

Adobe recently posted some great information on trends for search, mobile, and social marketing. Check out the link where you can find a really nice 2012 infographic along with some great PDFs from Q3 and Q4 from 2011.
A great article by Zoe Fox over at Mashable talking about mobile advertising and penetration in emerging countries. Also, a great infographic from JANA to go along with it.

Stumbled across this page that has some great examples of typography. If you scroll 3/4 way down you'll notice that they mention the 7-Eleven Slurpee Summit - which our Dallas team did. Nice little nod to some of the great talent we have here. I'm big on technology, but have a love for great use of typography in print.

nice find, im stealing some of these.
Well it's not really your show room version but this is a better introduction - for me at least. Check out this video showing Travis Pastrana is giving it a good thrashing which has some great slow motion shots.

I remember when they started talking about this a while ago. I love to drive so before I only thought it would be beneficial if it could drive me cross country. This demo shows how it can vastly improve the life of the visually impared. I say keep up the good work Google!

This is awesome!
Microsofts next OS platform is moving towards unifying devices. A public preview ISO is available for download if you're feeling froggy! Mobile World Conference is going on and Microsoft is getting a lot of great press for WP7, and the devices rolling out to support it. I'm looking forward to this evolution of the Windows OS.

Hasn\'t Apple been doing this for a while now? ;-)

I caught this movie last night during one of its two day showings in theaters and it was phenominal! Hyundai and the Grammys put this project together which takes 5 DJs of different genres and has them team up with a music styles and artists of similar and contrasting types to produce a new song. The result is this very real and inspiring music documentary showing each experience and how it all came together.
DJ Premiere w/ Classical Music
Skrillex w/ Rock
The Crystal Method w/ R&B
Pretty Lights w/ Country
Mark Ronson w/ Jazz
I encourage you to find it in theaters near you and go check it out! The next showing is February 23rd only!

Oh and it\'s playing in a lot of theaters! I thought it\'d only be playing in major cities but I saw it near me here in CT at a normal theater.
I've been a fan of Bjork's music through the many changes she has made to her style over the years. She is participating in a very limited music workshop program which i'm sure will fill up pretty quick!
Overall I think she is a very innovative musician making recent comments about hating creating music with a computer mouse. Her recent album is available as an interactive iPad application which is pretty cool. This is all great news for Bjork fans - but not surprising coming from such a talented individual.

Intel revealed at CES 2012 that their new 32nm processor named " Medfield" will make its way into Motorola and Lenovo smartphones. Initial tests show that this single-core x86 based processor is beating the dual-core ARM SoCs that are shipping with current smartphones (iPhone4S included). Check it out.
An architect, and a graphic designer got together to create a new coffee cup that gets rid of the plastic lid. Interesting idea, I wonder how ridgid it is.
cool! looks like a little spout built in for the \"drinking hole.\" would be interested to see how well it holds up.
Very cool! i am all for it! It is all about waste reduction.
I\'m all for it unless it pours hot coffee all over me :)
CanvasPop just rolled out a new service which allows Instagram photos to be printed/mounted on canvas. Don't bother going to Studio and asking how in the world a 612x612 @ 72dpi image can be printed so large...CanvasPop uses "special filters" along with other methods to make sure the image looks great when printed large. They also mention that canvas is naturally forgiving to low resolution images. Regardless, it's awesome.
So grab your iPhone (sorry everyone else) and start printing memories to hang on your walls. Great gift idea for the holidays too!

Amex did it with Foursqure, looks like Visa has partnered up with mobile shopping app Shopkick (http://www.shopkick.com) to offer incentive to buying certain items in-store with your Visa card. You're rewarded in the form of "kicks" (previously called "kick bucks", which are redeemable for things such as gift cards, electronics, etc.

I know there has been a lot of the mass hysteria surrounding the demise of Flash Player on mobile device. I think that this is a great read from the people who actually develop in Flash.
You get a great "different" perspective from award winning agencies and their take on the news. Not just some Apple fan going "JOBS WINS AGAIN!! HTML5 FTW!!!"
So if you have never openened an FLA, compiled and SWF, or written one line of AS3 - You should read this. It's iPhone compatible so don't worry :-P
Good read. I found this quote from the article particularly interesting:
Wesley ter Haar, Head of Operations, MediaMonks If we step back from the horrible timing of Adobe’s press-release we’re left with the same discussion we have every single day. What’s the best tool for the job, and how do we reach as many people as possible. Sometimes the answer is HTML, sometimes it’s Flash but in our business being fundamentally for or against a platform or technology means you fill your days squeezing square plugs in to round holes. You look at the problem and you solve it, this discussion about what happens behind the curtain should be left to fanboys & fanatics
This is a still image. Yet your mind gives it subtle life as you look around it. Trippy...

hmmm
It hurts :(
yes
Cool. It moves...my vestibular balance is officially off now (LOL).
While looking very similar to the profile pages, you can now add brand Pages to your circles and follow them.

I can see this being useful for those work-out games, but then they tell you about how games can change according to your stress level. Kind of cool!
I think we have enough grassy space in the parking lot area to set one of these bad boys up. Forget the trust fall, we need real adrenaline!
Check out this cool real-time visualizer. With it you can roll over hot spots to see information for the area, it has an email/sec gauge, and you can bring up trending keywords to see spam!

This clip was shot using 40 HD HERO cameras. They connected them together to create a camera array which produced some stunning footage. Think bullet-time in the Matrix! Be sure to watch it in HD!
It's been about 5 years since DJ Shadow has come out with an album. I picked it up yesterday and it was well worth the wait. So if you're a Josh Davis fan, head over to his website and grab the album, and some limited edition goodies! He lets you download his music in all sorts of formats and qualities, for those who wish to mix and produce an album with it. Killer

If it's true, I know a lot of AT&T users who have for years bashed Sprint that will be switching over. We'll see if its true.

Interesting read...
For all you shoe fanatics, these cool racks allow you to show off your best kicks that you keep boxed up and will never wear. Turns them from foot wear into wall art.
I'm not really big on Apple products, but I am big on having multiple monitors. One of my biggest annoyances is working in Photoshop or After Effects with a single monitor, no matter how big.
This app claims to be able to extend your Mac desktop using Snow Leopard and WiFi. Looks awesome!
If you're a fan of Dubstep, NERO has finally released their long awaited album. You can get a taste of the album through this quick mix they posted on YouTube. Enjoy!

When I was in high school/college I was really into breakdancing. I saw this commercial the other day and got a kick out of it. The Aflac Duck having a break battle with a pigeon. Love it!
It really does catch your attention...I laugh every time I see it.
As with anything in this world if there is a buck to be made, people will find a way to exploit the demand and make it.
You can find Google + invites for sale on ebay for about $27.
